Adhering to the development philosophy of "Hospitals with Key Specialties, Departments with Distinct Fields, Staff with Technical Expertise", we strengthened specialty development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. Our Thoracic Surgery and Gastrointestinal Surgery departments were recognized as National Key Clinical Specialties. Six specialties, including Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, became provincial-level key clinical specialty construction projects, focusing on building a professional brand with cancer characteristics. The hospital boasts 12 major medical centers, including the Yunnan Cancer Center and the Yunnan Tumor Diagnosis and Treatment Quality Control Center, and launched 338 new technologies. Aiming for "Quality Nursing, Specialty Leadership", the hospital promoted the development of nursing work towards scientific, professional, and refined directions, striving to provide patients with whole-process, all-around nursing services. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the hospital was approved as the Chinese Nursing Association's National Nursing Education and Science Popularization Base and the "CACA Case Management Specialized Training Base". It took the lead in establishing the Yunnan Cancer Center Oncology Nursing Specialty Alliance, covering 42 medical institutions across the province and jointly conducting over 100 activities with alliance members.

It introduced the "Cloud Healthcare" nursing management system and nursing decision support system, leveraging information technology to enhance management efficiency.
Focusing on the cultivation of specialist nursing talents, it successively held 13 training sessions for specialties like intravenous therapy, stoma care, and incontinence, training 1,136 specialist nursing talents for the province. The hospital added 151 specialist nurses in 25 fields including hospice care and humanistic nursing, and for the first time conducted recertification for 330 specialist nurses. Currently, the total number of specialist nurses in the hospital has reached 408.
