Under the framework of the "South and Southeast Asia Medical Education and Service Alliance" jointly initiated by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Kunming Medical University, our hospital has focused on the field of cancer prevention and treatment, actively exploring and leading the establishment of the Oncology Sub-Alliance. After nearly a year of preparation and multiple rounds of communication, we have received positive responses from 12 leading cancer prevention and treatment institutions across 8 countries in South and Southeast Asia. The Alliance will engage in cross-regional cooperation to explore new mechanisms for cancer prevention and control, jointly build a regional prevention system, and effectively enhance the overall regional capacity in this area.

At the inauguration ceremony, Alliance President Academician Fan Xianqun and Secretary-General President Xia Xueshan fully affirmed the significance of establishing the Oncology Sub-Alliance. They highlighted Yunnan's unique geographical advantage as a gateway to South and Southeast Asia, noting that the Sub-Alliance not only represents a concrete practice of the "Health Silk Road" but also deepens the international integrated medicine model, laying a solid foundation for a new paradigm of multilateral cooperation in cross-regional cancer prevention and treatment. Hospital President Zhang Guojun, speaking on behalf of the initiating institution, stated that as a national regional medical center for oncology, our hospital bears the important mission of enhancing regional cancer capabilities. We will fully utilize this platform to strengthen in-depth cooperation with medical institutions in South and Southeast Asian countries, integrate resources, and enhance collaboration among member units to effectively improve regional cancer prevention and control capacities.

Witnessed by all attendees, representatives from 12 participating institutions signed the alliance agreement with our hospital. These include Chiang Mai University Faculty of Medicine (Thailand), University of Dhaka (Bangladesh), University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), Mae Fah Luang University (Thailand), Prince of Songkla University Faculty of Medicine (Thailand), University of Health Sciences (Cambodia), University of Medicine 1, Yangon (Myanmar), University of Medicine, Mandalay (Myanmar), National Cancer Research Hospital (Bangladesh), National Cancer Centre of Laos, National Cancer Center of Mongolia, and National Academy of Medical Sciences Bir Hospital (Nepal).
